Composite Bonding by Dr. Scott M. Jordan, DDS

When it comes to your teeth, even slight imperfections can cause people to be self-conscious of their smiles. Most cosmetic dentistry procedures are for more extensive damage from severe discoloration to missing teeth, yet, with composite bonding, your dentist can repair minor flaws easily and quickly. At Scott M. Jordan, DDS we can restore your smile with composite bonding whether you have issues with chips, cracks, gaps, or discoloration.

Benefits of Composite Bonding

Non-invasive – With many cosmetic dentistry treatments, the tooth needs to be filed down in order for the veneer or crown to attach to the tooth while still looking natural, making them lifetime commitments. With composite bonding there is very little filing done to the tooth, just enough for the resin to bond correctly, so it won’t change the overall shape of your tooth.

Fixes several issues – Composite resin can be used to fix several dental issues, both functional and cosmetic, such as cover slight discolorations, fill in minor chips and cracks, thicken and protect teeth with a thin enamel, and to reshape the tooth to make it more cohesive with the rest of your smile.

Affordable – Most cosmetic dentistry procedures require a lot of work and therefore can be very expensive. Composite bonding, on the other hand, requires much less work to give the patient their desired results and is much more affordable than other restorative dentistry options.

Less time – When patients get veneers and crowns, they often are custom created in a separate office and can take days to weeks for the procedure to be done. All composite bonding procedures are done completely in our office and can be completed within an hour depending on the amount of work that needs to be done.

Natural looking – Your dentist can change the shade of the composite resin to match the shade of your teeth so it blends in seamlessly. Small amounts of the resin are adhered layer by layer in order to avoid bulkiness and achieve a more natural looking shape. Once the resin is dried, the dentist will file and polish it so the repairs are unnoticeable.
