Dental Bridges in Encinitas CA

For patients who want an alternative to dental implants or who, for whatever reason, do not wish to have dental implants, we offer dental bridges in our Encinitas dental office as an alternative for replacing missing teeth.

Dental bridges consist of three (or more) special types of dental crowns to complete your smile. Two crowns are placed over your healthy teeth adjacent to your missing tooth. The crowns, called abutment crowns, hold an artificial tooth, called a pontic, in place.

At Scott Jordan DDS, we create fixed dental bridges to complement your smile. Dr. Jordan matches the shade, color, shape, and size, of your dental bridge to match your teeth so that your smile looks natural and your dentistry does not stand out like a sore thumb! This gives our patients confidence in the appearance of their smiles.

Dental bridges offer a number of benefits:

  • Fill the gap in your smile
  • Act as a placeholder, so teeth do not shift
  • Eliminates the need for surgery

Dental bridges do have some limitations, however. You should be careful chewing hard or sticky foods on your bridge. While they are strong, they are not as stable as your natural teeth or dental implants.

It is essential to keep them clean as food may become lodged under your dental bridge and irritate your delicate gum tissue. Maintaining the health of your natural supporting teeth is also essential. Gum disease can destroy even the best dentistry.

If you have multiple missing teeth and want a solution other than a partial denture, we offer implant-supported bridges to provide exceptional stability and esthetics. By using a combination of bridgework and dental implants, we can replace more teeth without requiring a denture.

If you have a missing tooth or you are facing a dental extraction, contact our Encinitas, CA dental office today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Scott Jordan. We can explain all of your treatment options so you can make the best decision regarding your oral health!
