If your smile is not quite what you want it to be and you have been meaning to get around to talking about dental veneers with your Encinitas dentist but haven’t made the time. Then suddenly, you find yourself with an upcoming special event and want to take action now, veneers may be the answer.

Weddings, reunions, and special vacations all mean a lot of photos. Veneers may provide you with that camera-ready smile you’ve been dreaming of.

Who Should Have Veneers?

Veneers really only take a few appointments until your new smile is ready. Dr. Scott Jordan will perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine if you are healthy enough for veneers. Your exam will include:

  • Consultation and planning
  • X-rays
  • Impressions and models
  • Bite evaluation
  • Jaw evaluation

If your teeth are worn from clenching and grinding, you may also need a nightguard to protect your new smile once treatment is complete.

At your consultation, Dr. Jordan will discuss your hopes for your new smile. If you want an overall brighter appearance to your teeth, we may recommend whitening to get started since your veneers will be matched to your natural teeth color for a uniform result.

Dr. Jordan will design your new veneers to match your facial structure and natural smile line. Your hair color, skin tone, and gender all play a role in smile design. We can look at pictures and discuss smiles you admire.

How Many Veneers Will I Need?

When you smile, we will look at how many teeth show naturally. This varies from person to person but usually results in about 6-8 veneers for the best result. Of course, if you just have one or two teeth that you want to improve, we can discuss that option as well.

The best way to learn about dental veneers is to contact our Encinitas dental office to arrange a consultation that will give you a chance to speak with Dr. Jordan in-depth about improving your smile.
